2 Blockade FAQ for jobbers

Squishat | 12:30 AM

Blockades (winner takes island) can happen starting from 12pm GT Saturday to 12pm GT Sunday, every weekend.

Event blockades (just for fun) can happen anytime a Governor schedules it, any day of the week. (Pay is usually not so hot).

How long till it starts?
Jobbing for a blockade always starts an hour before the first round starts.

When on the ship, you don’t see the blockade tab on your notice board, so you should go to the Nav Table, and click “View Blockade”.

This has the same effect as clicking on the Blockade Tab on the noticeboard

Find your cade under the “Active” sorting, and you’ll be able to see how long till it starts in the top right corner. Like so.

Is this cade sinking?

All BK cades are sinking.
This is what a BK cade looks like on the blockade tab.

Having those little ships means that it is a BK cade, and it will be sinking.
The number of ships represents how strong it is.

For a PvP cade, only cades that have flags at war with each other will be sinking.

To see, click on the Defending Flag's name

It will bring up their flag page. On the left side, if Flag 2's name is under "At war with", then the blockade will be sinking.

If Flag 2 doesn't appear, it is non-sinking.

If Flag 2 is only "Declaring war against" Flag 1, then the Cade is non-sinking.

If at any time before or during the blockade Flag 1 returns the war dec, then the flags are at war and the cade will become sinking.

How long is a round?
Each round lasts 45 minutes, with a 15 minute break. An extra hour of break between Rounds 3 and 4.

Jobbing hour > Round 1 > 15 mins > Round 2 > 15 mins > Round 3 > 15 mins > 1 hour > Round 4 > 15 mins > Round 5

What does elite/even pay mean?
It means that the better you do, the more you get paid on top of the offer, or if you do really bad, you get paid slightly less than the offer.

How many times do I get paid?
In a Round, there are 5 segments. Each segment is 8:30 mins (including 1 min break).

Which means if they are offering 1k per segment on the Noticeboard, you get paid 5k (at least) for the round.

Why didn’t I get paid?
The ship could have left the board before you "puzzled enough" for that segment to count.

As a gunner, why didn’t I get paid?
As a gunner, you need to fill at least 16 guns a segment to be paid. If you don't, you won't get paid.
Sometimes the Navers don't shoot enough for you to be able to fill that many.

Do give a shoutout that you didn't get paid!

Why aren't we going in?
Either the timer isn't up yet, the ship doesn't have enough people aboard (use /w to check), or they are waiting till the round after to send the ship in.

Why did I get planked?
Either you did poor or booched, or aren't doing anything. Do keep in mind you don't get paid if you don't station.

Which ship do I hop on next?
Listen for jobbing crew shoutouts, or call all hand notifications.

Do I only get an injury if we sink?
You get a chance at getting an injury only when you sink yes.

A typical blockade offer. Note the Flag name and the island.

  2. That's because people know to look for it anyway. What they don't know to look for is the flag and the island. Too often I get questions like "which cade is this"

Especially if there are multiple offers on the board at the same time.
