0 YPP Tip of the Day - Using the Call all Hands

Squishat | 5:02 AM
What is the CAH? What does it do? Where can I find it?

The CAH is the "Call all Hands". By its name, you can guess that the purpose of this button sends out a whistle to "call" all crewbies and jobbers in the crew to the ship. After the controls revamp, it can be found on the nav wheel, in what they call the "manage jobbers" panel. Like so.

How do I read the CAH screen?
So that was pretty simple. Then you get to this screen.

It means that you can CHOOSE who you'd like to send the whistle to.

Ashore - Anyone that is on land, be it inn or house or dock.

In port/Sailing - all ships that are in your crew that have pirates on them, whether ported at an island, or sailing around the islands.

In battle - Pirates that are on ships that are in battle (or in SMH, or any environment really)

The correct and courteous way to use it is to UNTICK In port/sailing and In battle before using the CAHing.

This is what your screen should look like before CAHing.

If not, as you can guess, it can be very distracting for crewbies that are engaged in other activities.

What does the CAH look like to the people I'm calling?

It will show up on the Ahoy! Tab (Probably changing in 2 weeks) with a "Board" button. Just click that to board. The notification will last 2 minutes on your tab.

I can't see if I've called already!
Just turn DND off, and you can see your ahoy tab.

How often should I use the CAH?

Honestly? Apart from cades and BK battles, you should use it as little as possible.

Let's say you're loading a voyage, and you'd like to inform mates that you're loading. Okay, do a Call for Ashore only ONCE. And then resort to crew chat or tells.

Oh god, the constant CAH whistle is annoying me to no end! I'm just trying to poker!
Fortunately, there's a solution to that. If you turn DND on, you will no longer hear the whistle, or see the popup.

Alternatively, if you need to see the whistle, make sure that you have DND off.

Now that you know how to use it correctly, please never ever call all hands to in battle again.

The rest of the crew will thank you!
